Black Country Reinvestment Society

About BCRS

Who are we?

BCRS was established in 2002. We provide loans to small businesses that have workable business plans but can't get all the finance they need from traditional sources. We lend alone or alongside the banks and other financers.

BCRS provides loans to:

• Start-up businesses
Individuals or groups planning to start, or who have recently started, a new private business for profit.

• Small and Medium sized businesses
Any private business employing less than 250 employees.

• Social Enterprises
Individuals or groups planning to start, or who have recently started, a business, the primary purpose of which is to trade to pursue social objectives and whose surpluses are principally reinvested for that purpose in the business or in the community, rather than being driven by the need to maximise profit for shareholders and owners.

Why BCRS is not just another loans company

Our loan fund has been especially designed

to meet the needs of small businesses

We understand that getting finance can be problematic. Lack of track record, unreasonable security arrangements, past financial problems or simply not meeting conventional credit scoring methods may be hindering the process.

BCRS is a community organisation run on a not-for-profit basis. We offer loans to enterprises making a positive contribution to the social, environmental or economic well being of the Black Country and environs.
