K W Autobodies

Walsall born Keith Watts was able to turn the dream of running his own limited company into reality through purchasing an existing business with a loan from BCRS.

Having worked in the motor trade repair industry for 30 years Keith was well equipped to take on the business which specialises in repair and bodywork for commercial vehicles.

The transfer of sale meant that the business was not lost and Keith now has plans to double its turnover in the next few years.

Divas

Young mum, Jay Walker had seen the demand for a specialist Afro-Caribbean hair and beauty product business in the Bilston area of Wolverhampton.

As a result of a loan from BCRS she was able to get the business off the ground and set up Divas. Now a year on from its official opening the business has created a solid customer base for itself and Jay is glad that her business was given the opportunity to become a reality.

Grosvenor Marsh

Brierley Hill based Grosvenor Marsh Narrowboats Ltd was able to move its production up a level as a result of a loan from BCRS. Started just over two years ago by Clive Grosvenor and Tom Marsh, the business was coming to a standstill as a lack of funding from the bank meant that work could not continue until their first boat was sold.

The loan enabled the business to proceed with its next narrowboat venture and a few months on it celebrated the success of selling its first boat. The company is now enjoying a prosperous outlook and aims to increase its turnover to 10 boats a year to meet its increasing demand.

Quality Print Plus

Quality Print Plus, a social enterprise based in Dudley, were able to double productivity through securing a loan from BCRS. Through purchasing a reconditioned lithograph-printing machine they are now able to meet the growing demand from their customers for high quality print work. This investment has enabled them to process orders more quickly and increase their production capacity.

Sadliers Coffee Lounge

Paul Sadlier and his wife, Maxine, had often dreamt of running their own coffee lounge in Wolverhampton.

Despite having a solid business plan and many years of experience in the catering trade, getting hold of finance was their biggest obstacle. Insufficient funds meant that they could not buy necessary equipment and stock. It was not until they were referred to BCRS that the pair were able to secure a loan and launch their dream business.

Having recently opened its doors to business the coffee lounge which specialises in Fairtrade products is already creating quite a stir in the local community.

Little Rascals Childcare

When the directors of Little Rascals Childcare, a nursery based in Walsall, wanted to introduce a new service they found it difficult to obtain the necessary finance to make it happen.

A prompt loan from BCRS meant that they were able to purchase a vehicle and provide a ‘wraparound’ service which now allows them to transport children to and from schools and other nurseries. This has proved very popular with parents in the local community.
