Over £ ½ million
invested in local businesses
The Black Country Reinvestment Society (BCRS) has
reached a record landmark in helping support enterprise
activity in the region.
The Dudley based Society which provides business
finance has reached a major milestone through meeting
escalating demand from small businesses unable to
get loans in part or in full from banks.
Paul Kalinauckas, Chief Executive
of BCRS said “Reaching
our £ ½ million investment target has
been a great achievement for the Society. It clearly
shows that an access to finance gap exists and many
businesses do not get the opportunity to realise
their full potential when they are turned down by
traditional lenders.
“Nearly thirty businesses from narrow boat
builders, fashion designers, printers and small manufacturers
have been helped to grow and expand this year alone
as a result of a loan from us. This is turn has helped
to boost the enterprise culture in some of the most
disadvantaged communities in the Black Country”.
The Society makes loans from £5,000 to £50,000
to small businesses that are contributing to the
social, economic and environmental well being of
the region..
